Containment involves the controlled encapsulation of materials, general for two reasons - operator protection (preventing exposure to harmful substances) and product protection (avoiding contamination from the environment).

Containment operates on two levels:

• Primary Containment prevents the direct escape of critical dust or substances with technologies like glove boxes, butterfly valves, and endless-liner systems.
• Secondary Containment adds an extra layer of protection, using clean rooms, locks, or pressure stages to limit further spread.

Through closed systems, HECHT ensures that hazardous substances are fully enclosed, with no open connections to the external environment. Leak prevention is critical, including during sampling, filling, and maintenance, where proper handling reduces contamination risks. Integrated dedusting systems further enhance safety and, in some cases, reduce or eliminate explosion risks.
